I specialize in chronic pain management, and rehabilitative massage. I set up treatment plans, do special tests ( postural, ortho, and gait) if needed, and I use methods to help muscles open and be more willing to receive work to make the most out of the time together. I am a firm believer that treatment is not over when the session is, so take the following week to call me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the work!
For theraputic I offer:
Myofascial release - when you work with a muscle group a lot, or stay in the same position, or favour a part of your body... Yes your muscles get tight. But so does the tissue between the muscle and skin. This tissue (myofascia) can have trigger points and problems its self
Orthopaedic massage: this is when there is a problem with a joint. There is a special massage you can have done to release joints. It is completely pain free and very different from deep tissue because of how structured and relaxing it is
Neuromuscular massage: people can have trouble with one particular muscle ( or a few) so you spend time releasing that muscle entirely. It's magic
Deep tissue: I include trigger points in this category, though, I work with them in all my massage
Trigger points: they are points of stress where a muscle can no longer completely contract or release. they cause that referring pain, tingling, or ache with in the muscle
Lymphatic drainage: this is when you are swollen and you drain fluid into the specific area so your body can rid it as waste. Great for promoting healing after an injury.
Soft tissue release- this is when I massage the muscle while being passively or actively engaged. It works the deep fibres of the muscle
RELAXATION MASSAGE
There are more, but these are the ones I work with the most
There are things you can do to increase the longevity of a massage, allow the muscles to respond better, or things to open them up to recievemassage. I try to incorporate these into my work.
They range from using heat, cold, mint, aroma therapy, stretching, and breathing techniques.
I also preform hospital massage with required information, consent, and agreement from staff. I am trained in how to preform this service.
My registration number is accepted by any insurance provider and I provide receipts, home are and detailed recovery instructions.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to call. Booking an appointment is the best way to reserve a time to see me as I do book up for the week and don't want you to miss out, I can occasionally come the same day; but it is not guaranteed.
