I hold a Bachelor of Music and have been teaching children and adults since 1992, beginner to advanced. I can help you start something new, prepare for Royal Conservatory exams, or simply improve and have fun. Classical, pop or chording style; theory as your main focus or as part of an instrumental program; introductory song writing and improvisation. Children build slowly on their skills with no excessive homework loads, gaining confidence each week. Adults set their own pace and collaborate on the direction of lessons. Piano - The first choice for young children and those with no previous musical experience. Specifically designed programs for beginners of different age groups from 6 years old to 96. For the intermediate student, choose your style, classical, pop, and/or chording and improvisation. Or all three! Prepare for RCM exams up to Grade 8. Flute - Getting an airy sound? Let's fix it! Tired of playing alone? Let's play duets or help you find a band or orchestra to join. Just started band at school? Become the lead chair. Usually children can learn to play the flute as young as 8 years old. Intermediate students can improve embouchure (lip formation) for a more beautiful tone and enhance technique (flying fingers). Prepare for RCM exams up to Grade 6. Oboe - While not recommended for children under 10, this instrument is beautiful and versatile. I offer customized reeds 100x better than machine-made or lessons in making your own like a professional (advanced students). Go from ducky to haunting. Improve your tone and tuning--so important! Prepare for RCM exams up to Grade 10 or University entrance auditions. Theory - Whether you want to write your own music, prepare for university entrance exams, or simply understand what flats and sharps are, you've come to the right place. I include basic theory with all lessons, but I also offer theory as a stand-alone subject. Prepare for RCM exams up to Advanced Rudiments.
