akework was officially launched in 2010, the result of taking some serious cake classes, 20+ years of making cakes for family and friends, and deciding not only did we truly love baking but we actually possess a certain amount of creativity that soon transpired our hobby into a great business! Cakework is owned and operated by Kristin Walker of Northside East Bay, NS, with assistance from family and Kasey Whitworth during the summer. We don't have all the overhead of having a shop, so we can keep our prices affordable. We offer traditional cakes but we absolutely love to do fun, whimsical cakes that showcase our abilities. A cake is a palette, waiting for the cake artist's brush...a cake from Cakework is truly a work of art, and it must taste as good as it looks or it doesn't go out the door!
