Aftercare Cremation and Burial Service was founded in 1995 by Douglas McCann. The company is a licensed funeral transfer service that offers a more simplified and lower cost cremation service in Toronto. Aftercare was initially offering its services from an office in the Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant, becoming a full service licensed funeral establishment in 2001 after purchasing a former building at 1097 O’Connor Drive in the St. Clair and O’Connor area. This allowed the company to offer a wider range of funeral services, also maintaining its focus on cremation. The first satellite office specializing in direct cremation was opened in 2007 at 901 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa, in order to better serve clients in Durham Region.
