The Auto Workers Community Credit Union is a full service, locally owned and controlled financial co-operative. It was founded in 1938, originally for auto workers and their families, and today has expanded its scope to include anyone living or working in the Durham Region.
We offer a full range of loan, mortgage, deposit and investment options. At AWCCU your deposits are insured up to $100,000 and each (RRSP/RRIF) plan is fully insured. We currently service over 14,000 members and that number is growing by the day. We are guided by a democratically elected Board of Directors and thanks to our members we are able to invest our earning back into the credit union and into the communities we serve. A portion of our profits are also returned to the Membership in the form of dividends or interest rebates. This distribution of profit returns value to the community in which we exist and serve. Our Board and Management are constantly looking for innovative ways to improve our products and services in order to better suit your individual needs.
