Description

Rocco Scarola moved to Canada from Bari, Italy in 1967. Using his culinary knowledge he worked for a number of well known restaurants in Halifax before opening the doors of his own restaurant in 1992. With the help of his wife Gail and a dedicated staff Rocco has been providing diners in Dartmouth top quality food & service in a relaxed atmosphere for over 15 years.
New owners Hannah & Robert Gibson had worked with Rocco for almost 8 years prior to acquiring the restaurant in March of 2008. Along with Rocco's long-time Chef Tracey Cromwell they strive to continue with Rocco's tradition of excellence for years to come.

My husband and I had purchased a Groupon voucher for a tableside dinner for two at this restaurant, which was due to expire at the end of the month. Unfortunately, before we got to use it, my husband suffered a concussion and we were unable to keep our reservation and use the voucher before it was due to expire. Upon talking to the restaurant and explaining our situation, they were more than gracious to extend the voucher for us, so that we were able to still use it for the full value. They did so without any hesitation and made us feel as if the customer really did matter. Once we were able to finally use it, we were more than happy with the outcome. The service was fast and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommended this to anyone looking for one of the best italian restaurants out there!!
