EDULIS RESTAURANT
169 Niagara St,Business details
Description
OUR NAME, EDULIS:
Edulis means EDIBLE in Latin. It is also part of the name of the king – and our favorite – wild mushroom, the BOLETUS EDULIS (also known as the porcini mushroom, AND starring in our logo).
ABOUT US
We are so proud and excited to be back in Toronto to open our restaurant.
Taking the reins from Anton Potvin at the Niagara Street Cafe, we will continue in the proud tradition of the Niagara Street Cafe (where Chef Michael was at the helm of the kitchen from 2005 – 2008) offering delicious feasts in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
Chef/Owner Michael Caballo brings a passion for wild foods, mushroom foraging, and influences from his Spanish heritage. Inspired by his years roaming the kitchens, forests, and dining rooms of Canada, Panama, France, Italy, and Spain, Chef Michael promises not to top everything with foam and regrets to inform you he has never been a contestant on Top Chef Canada.
Owner and Manager Tobey Nemeth, formerly the Chef de Cuisine at the much-lauded Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar in Toronto, makes the move to front of house to smother you all with love.
Together we are so excited to welcome you to Edulis!
See you soon,
Tobey Nemeth and Michael Caballo
