Mrs. Susie von Hellermann has been dancing since she was five years old.
She trained at the Bayerische Staatsoper ballet school in Munich, Germany until she was 17 years old. Upon graduating into the company, Mrs. von Hellermann toured Europe for several years performing as a principal dancer in iconic ballet masterpieces such as Swan Lake, La Sylphide and Giselle. After moving to Calgary, Mrs. von Hellermann played a large role in developing the dance community. She has worked, performed, choreographed and taught with the Austrian Society, Calgary Opera, Alberta Ballet, Mount Royal University and the University of Calgary. In due course, she decided to open her own ballet school to share her knowledge and love for the art of dance. After 40 years of operation, Ballet School Lakeview is still headed by Mrs. von Hellermann, and has provided countless students with the best dance education possible for those who wish to pursue ballet as a passion.
