I have been in Private Practice in the Central Alberta area for the past 5 years. With a total of 25 years experience I posses strong clinical skills which afford her the ability to connect with clients of all ages. I have a specialization in assisting children and adolescents using art and play therapy. With adults, I have training regarding a variety of treatment moderalities (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused/ Brief Therapy, mindfulness, and supportive psychotherapy) which assist clients who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transition, loss, and any other struggles.
Therapy is about relationship building and trust; I know this and am very dedicated to my clients and in meeting their needs. I am a very skilled clinician. I offer short term and longer term counseling in order to assist my clients to improve the quality of their lives. I can assist with issues as diverse as self-esteem, relationship and communication difficulties, feeling recognition and expression, loss, emotional distress, life stress, and general life management. I am comfortable with all age groups and any and all issues that clients may face. She is a strong advocate for her clients; has a strong sense of the value of the therapeutic relationship and works very hard to assist those who she sees. I feel that therapy is best seen as a "team approach" where the client is in charge and we work together to make life's challenges easier. I am a Registered Social Worker in the Province of Alberta, Registration #2215. I am also an approved provider for several Employee Assistance Programs.
