Living in Alberta can have its challenges. Even with many employers now including mental health support under the umbrella of benefits, finding quality help within your means can be difficult. Erica Ford Psychology was started with that in mind. Staying healthy (both mentally and physically), can be a challenge with the restraints of the Alberta economy.
Since moving to Alberta, Erica has had the unique experience of working with marginalized populations, as well as facilitating individual, marriage and group counselling sessions with a variety of individuals.
Erica's therapeutic framework includes the following methods:
1. CBT - Cognitive behavioural therapy is a "here and now" practice. It is time-focused and geared towards changing beliefs, attitudes and thoughts surrounding your behavioural and emotional well being.
2. DBT - Dialectical Behavioural Therapy is a strength-based approach to emotional regulations. By identifying your personal strengths DBT allows you to work through negative thoughts and reactions and find helpful solutions tailored to you.
3. Solution Focused - Solution focused therapy zeros in on your ideal solution, rather than spending time focusing only on the problem. Here, we focus on creating small goals and examining what needs to happen to achieve them.
4. Client Centred Care - It's your mental health. No matter what stage you are at, my goal is to help you work through it without judgement. Your change is guided by you and you are an equal partner in the process.
Average cost per session: $160. Sliding scale accepted.
