Tait Family Carpenters

Tait Carpenters was originally established in 1975 in Tillsonburg, Ontario, by Art Tait and his son Tony Tait. A large portion of Tait Carpenters business was to the tobacco farming industry in the tri-county area surrounding Tillsonburg.
In the 1980's a third generation of workers donned a tool pouch for Tait Carpenters; Tony's son, Derek, and daughter, Cindy, along with his nephews. In 1994 Tony's future son-in-law, Stephen Saelens, began to work for Tait Carpenters. Tait Carpenters began to down size near the end of the 1990's, thanks in part to the demise of the tobacco industry, and also to Art and Tony's passion for horses. With the passing of Art Tait in 2004, the business became a sole proprietorship for Tony. Sadly, in 2014, Tony was diagnosed with colon cancer and shortly after passed away. Tony Tait was able to bless his son-in-law, Stephen Saelens, with knowledge, experience, and a work ethic to continue the legacy which began almost 40 years ago. Tait Family Carpenters will build upon that which was true about Tait Carpenters- honest work at an honest price.
