The heart of my philosophy centers on the concept that effective assessment requires a comprehensive and thorough evaluation of the individual's strengths and areas of need, and it involves providing an individual with the fundamental tools, recommendations, strategies, and supports that he/she needs in order to perform and be successful. When completing an assessment, I invite an individual to reflect on his/her life experiences and I bring in knowledge from research to contextualize and explore answers to his/her assessment questions. I view my role as that of a skilled professional guiding an individual in the course of constructing his/her knowledge base and better understanding who he/she is as a person.
My clinical experience, as well as my experience as an instructor, has indeed provided me with the opportunity to grow and mature as an educator and a psychologist. Given the breadth of experience that I have received, as well as the diversity of the individuals that I have worked with, I have truly been able to develop my skills during my teaching and professional career.
