Welcome to Embracing Life Doula Services! I'm Leanne Wiebe, a certifying HALO Labour & Birth Doula here to serve Thunder Bay homebirths and TBRHSC births.
A labour and birth doula is a professional support person for the pregnant mother and her family. As a doula my goal is to provide informational and emotional support as the pregnancy progresses so that my client and her supporters can make informed decisions to develop a meaningful birthplan whether in hospital or for a homebirth. When labour begins I will be there for emotional and physical comfort, relaxation and guidance to the client mother. For the father, and any others loved ones who have been invited into the experience, I am able to provide guidance, reassurance and a calming presence throughout the experience whether natural, medicated, or c-section birth. After the baby is born, I will stay until everyone is comfortable and settled and am available for one visit as follow-up. As a five time mother personally, I have experienced birth once in a hospital birthing centre, once in hospital, and three times at home. My experience has primarily been with the midwives of Thunder Bay (both clinics) but I did need obstetrical help during my fourth pregnancy. Labour and Birth Doula Services include: - 2-3 prenatal visits - email and texting support throughout the pregnancy until the final visit - on call for 2 weeks for the birth - attendance at the birth from when I am called until the baby is born, however long that may be - one follow-up homevisit with mother and baby Contact me today for more information!
